Fishing has improved for both shore and boat anglers in the Cottonwood Cove area and is being described as fair to good. Anglers have been coming in with stringers full of stripers and catfish. There are reports of 20-pound or bigger stripers being taken while trolling lures. Trolling with bait is also producing fish.

At Willow Beach, rainbow trout are being caught near the hatchery outflow, but fishing has slowed down there as well. Those who have been catching the fish are doing so on PowerBait or flies. Striped bass anglers have found some success while throwing Bomber Long A lures and swimbaits in trout patterns. One angler reeled in a 35-inch fish that weighed 17.5 pounds just downstream of Monkey Hole.
