With FLOWS going up to a High rate of 741 CFS on this stretch, while rather inaccessible now, it will fish much better. Not so light leaders now but stealthy approaches will still be required. Trout here have not seen a break from anglers all year because of the lack of wintery weather so please be conscience of proper C&R techniques! Access is LIMITED here now and with flows up fish can be found everywhere throughout the system. Trout here will be feeding on a steady diet of Midges in the morning and then turning their attention to BWO’S, Baetis, Winter Stones, and Midges again in the evening. Cloudy days can produce some great dry activity here! So, have all stages of these bugs in your box. The rule of thumb here has been 3X-4X depending on the situation. Go to patterns that always work when the water is up is San Juan’s, Gummy Worms AND Glow Bugs. STILL SPOTS OF SNOW ON ROAD, SO IF YOU GO BE PREPARED FOR THESE CONDITIONS!

The plan is to start stocking Pilot Peak Strain Cutthroats this season in BOCA, STAMPEDE, DONNER, AND PROSSER RESERVOIRS with hopes that they will survive AND attain trophy sized proportions in the years to come. THIS MEANS AS AN ANGLER ONE SHOULDN’T BE KEEPING THESE SUB-CATCHABLE SIZE CUTTHROATS BUT PUTTING...... Read More
