GENERAL CONDITIONS

If the kiosk is closed, please use the yellow Ventek machine to pay for parking (exact change only, please). For fishing permits, you may use either the Ventek machine or the blue iron ranger posts across from the kiosk, from the entrance from the Isherwood Staging Area, and from the walk-through gates by the Sequoia Bridge and from the Niles gate.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOU MUST BE 100 FEET AWAY FROM THE FISH TUBE, THE BOAT DOCK, AND THE BEACH AREA while fishing from the shore and from a boat. Also, note that the use of lead fishing tackle is prohibited at Quarry Lakes. You can exchange lead tackle at the kiosk in a “1 for 1” trade for stainless steel weights.

Fishing has been picking up a little, especially since the 750 pounds of catfish were planted on June 18th! Our boaters are even still catching rainbow trout!

On June 14th, Jack Antrim of Hayward caught and released a five-pound catfish! He was trolling a rainbow runner on the backside of Horseshoe Lake. He also caught and released two trout with a rainbow runner in the front of Horseshoe Lake! On June 15th, Jack returned and this time, he caught and released three trout in an hour! He was again using his trusty rainbow runner and was fishing in the front of Horseshoe Lake.

Between June 18th and June 19th, Wes Anderson of Fremont caught four catfish! He was using anchovies and was fishing in the Kiosk Cove.

On June 18th, Bernie Helwig of Milpitas caught three trout from his boat using garlic Powerbait!

On June 19th, Dexter Miguel of Union City caught a five-pound, 12-ounce rainbow trout trolling a Cordell lure. He was trolling from his kayak by the old boat ramp.

On June 21st, Bernie Helwig of Milpitas returned and caught two more trout from his boat using garlic Powerbait!
