2 day Recap
Santa Rosa Island - Channeil Islands National Park, CA (Santa Barbara County)
by Chris Volaski
This weekend we got the pleasure to have Posiden fishing adventures and the guys from Trendsetter baits. We started the weekend at Santa Rosa getting enough squid on the way out to fish for the next day. The weather was great and we managed 14 White Sea bass in the morning. We finished the first day up in shallow water catching whitefish, sheepshead, rockfish and the calico fishing was great too. The Trendsetter baits were the ticket the pearl glow in the dark color was on fire. That night we managed to tank up on squid had a great dinner and set up for the morning.
The next morning was univentful so we went and put some fish in the bags really quick and made a move closer to home in search of some yellowtail. As soon as we slid back on the anchor we hooked a fish which turned into two then three. For the next two hours we had 3 to 6 Fish going at a time all you could hear on the boat was fresh one and gaff. The yellowtail nite turned into a Sea bass bite and we managed to put 63 yellowtail and 19 seabass on the boat in that short amount of time.
We’re looking forward to getting back out the next few days the fishing has been great. Make sure you bring an outfit that you can fish 30 lb test line on and we look forward to seeing you on the New Hustler soon.
