The bite has slowed down a little for some with the heat that we have been experiencing but has continued to show some good numbers for many anglers. The bass bite remains steady with a lot of smaller bass being caught but with a nice kicker or two in the mix. The bass have started to boil first thing in the morning and later in the afternoon. While nightcrawlers have still been working well, plastics and some reaction baits (including top water) have been producing for some fellow anglers. The stripers have been seen boiling first thing in the morning, sometimes mixed in with the bass boils. The bait bite for the stripers has slowed a bit from the wide-open limits, but people are still managing good numbers throughout the day on sardines, anchovies, and lug/blood worms. Anyone that has a dip net and can scoop up some live shad are also having some good luck out there. The bluegill and crappie bite remain steady for those who have been targeting them.

The fresher the bait the better the results! The Largemouth are also doing great off of the shoreline to...... Read More

Fishing for all species seems to be wide open at Castaic Lake. Most Anglers have reported lots of activity across the lake during the weekdays. The weekend bite seems to have slowed a bit due to increased activity of large ski boats, but if you come out in the early morning you can still have around 6 hours of fishing time before it gets too crazy. Largemouth are still biting on nightcrawlers, plastics, crankbaits, and jigs in about 10-20 feet...... Read More
