Not much today in the way of fishing or catching as we covered morning miles searching for the right conditions. We did ultimately find an enticing patch of ocean but little became of it before our time to fish dwindled to zero. Marveling still at our weather luck we complete this run with a perfect score in that category. Seven days of flat calm seas is a trip maker in itself. However there was far more to our success than that.

Foremost is this group of stellar individuals whom all contributed through positive, upbeat perspective and rich humor as the voyage progressed. In the face of tough fishing out of the gates everyone maintained the right frame of mind certain that patience and effort would produce our time. And it did. Plenty of rail time and quality fishing was the icing on the cake. So concludes the 10th annual Royal Star/Humboldt Fishin’ Lumberjack run. Already looking forward to next year we extend our gratitude to CharterMaster Andrew Hampton who has done an exemplary job of keeping the tradition alive.

Closing voyage photos first feature veteran Carlos Jimenez with a nice Guadalupe yellowfin and first time Royal Star angler Bill Bennet and his prize.
