The bonus of the day was the weather. Anticipating a change that would re introduce us to the reality of offshore fishing we were thrown a curve of the best kind. A little wind kicked up for certain but the sea state remained nice and calm, perfect for traveling. The bust side of the narrative was no fish, none. Pushing east toward the promised zone of glory we were engulfed by swamp green water. Fairly certain that we would punch through and find the right zone minutes turned to hours and no change occurred. Then morning turned to afternoon. Stuck, surrounded by seemingly endless swamp green water, and out of time our final morning of fishing ended in defeat - no fish.

But, truth be told, it really had no impact on our trip. A beautiful bounty of fresh yellowfin tuna resides in the RSW tanks. Ample fishing time from our incredibly productive, four day anchor job at the island provided plenty of opportunity to practice the art of fishing. Anything today would have been pure bonus. Clearly the fish gods decided that we have enough; and we’re fine with that.
