As Kokanee fishing draws to a close the boat traffic here has greatly diminished and now is a great time to get out here and try for the other game fish in this great fishery.  Trout are very active, primarily in the Sagehen Creek and Little Truckee arms of this lake and anglers are having luck with a variety of techniques.  Cooler weather are slowing the smallmouth a bit and slower presentations will be the key this time of year, try jigging or dropshot set ups using soft plastics.  The mackinaw remain in deeper water around dam and can be taken on plugs or jigs in 40-60 ft. of water
