Castaic has been producing a lot of bait and wait anglers soaking a sardine or nightcrawler from the shoreline on the main dam near the tower.  There have been reports of stripers being caught anywhere between 3-6 lbs.  On the boats the main hot spots have been near the bouy line by elderberry dam, or over by Sharon's rest and C-spot.  Some fisherman are using artificial lures and swimbaits, which have also been connecting with a few line sides.  You should watch out for the weather because it has been very windy lately.  Bad enough to where the lifegaurds shut down the lake for launching.  Largemouth and smallmouth fishing has picked up a little bit but remains tough to figure them out.  Anglers have reported luck on the drop shot or small jigs.  There's also been some catches on small umbrella rigs, paddle tail [plastics, and jerk baits.  The catfish bite has slowed and have been tough to find lately.  Bluegill and Crappie bite remain poor as well, with very few catches to report on.  The lower lake is producing better when it comes to Crappie.
