3/4-day, Coral Sea, 12/27/18
Merit here, just on our way in heading down the Gaviota Coast after whacking limits of big bolina and reds, plus a a passel of white sea-fish.
It was one of those windy days out in the Channel, so we headed way west into the lee of Conception where the big reds play. It was a long run but it worked, big time. Two stops and 2:30 later we had bags full of mostly the big stuff -- I'd estimate about 40% each vermilion and bolina, 10% coppers. All on squid strip, 'caus that's all we offered.
Our 22 anglers wound up 220 rock, 55 whitefish and 2 sheephead. Our 3 no-shows really missed out. It's really nice to have that Gaviota option when it gets grumpy at the islands.
Posting some pictures, but the boys will have some more to follow.
