Rush Creek Fishing Report

Rush Creek - June Lake, CA (Mono County)

10-2-2008

Water Conditions:
The flows have been bumped up to 30 cfs. The river still low for this time of year. Water temps have risen to the mid to upper 60s. Make sure to bring the fish in as soon as possible.
Fishing Conditions and Hatches:
Fishing Dry/Dropper rigs is to go=2 0with the low water flows. Look for fish hiding in deeper holes. Make sure to fish ever little pocket. Some of my biggest fish have come from holes that are out of the way or hard to get at. Mayflies and Caddis are the way to go right now. In the morning give a try with small Mayfly nymphs, Midges and even some small Stones. Caddis has been the main hatch in the evening.

Recommended Flies:
-Dries-
#14-16 Hi-Vis Bwo or PMD, #10-16 Royal Wulff, #10-14 Stimis, #10-14 Dave's Hopper and #14-16 Elk Hair Caddis.
-Nymphs-
#14-16 Micro May, #14-16 Prince Nymph, #12-14 Micro Stone, #14-16 Bird of Prey, #18-10 Black Beauty, #16 Copper John and
#16-18 Lightening Bug.

Guides Hint: Fishing here is not recommended with the low flows.
