Rainbow Trout fishing got a little better this past week on Big Bear Lake. Water temperatures have dropped to 54 degrees, the algae is staring to die off, and clarity is improving as the algae disappears. All that is need is higher oxygen levels and the bite will go off. There are a lot of trophy sized fish plying the waters of Big Bear Lake. Be sure to hit it hard in the weeks to come, before winter weather settles in, and score your big fish.

Juan Jouel of Big Bear City landed a 7.68 lb. trout off Stanfield Cutoff on Rainbow power bait. (photo not available). 11 yr old Joseph Foulger of San Pedro caught a 3.04 lb. trout while trolling a Hot Shot of BOulder Bay. Jim Hass of Long Beach trolled a Rapala off the Observatory for a 4.73 lb. rainbow.

Don't forget about the other species available on the lake. Crappie, bluegill, redear, smallmouth bass are out there. Lake records have not been established for these species. Catch one of the above and bring it to the official weigh station for your chance at a lake record.

Big Bear Marina and the Big Bear Municipal Water District are proud to announce the first OFFICIAL WEIGH STATION on Big Bear Lake. New LAKE RECORDS will be established! Bring your BIG FISH and QUALITY LIMITS to Big Bear Marina for weigh-in and be eligible for monthly prizes.

NEW LAKE RECORD LARGEMOUTH BASS

5.90 LB. BASS LANDED BY PAM KALINA OF BIG BEAR CITY ON 10/8 ESTABLISHES NEW BIG BEAR LAKE RECORD!
