Spring Chinook Fishing is Slow

Spring Chinook fishing is slow on the Nestucca, but there are a few fish being caught. The estuary and the lower river below Three Rivers is going to have the majority of the fish right now. Summer steelhead should start showing up this month, but numbers are low this early. 

The upper Nestucca from Moon Creek to Elk Creek closed to steelhead fishing April 1 as did Beaver Creek in the Nestucca basin.

Three Rivers is still very low and clear. Fishing is slow, Spring Chinook and summer steelhead haven’t really started moving into the small water yet and will probably require some rain before they do.
