13.06 lb. Striped Bass

Colorado River - Davis Dam - Davis Dam, NV

How about some striper news and from the shores of the Colorado River. This striper was landed by Larry Felando up near the Davis Dam on the Arizona side. Larry was fishing from shore using a tip water plug he had made and painted. this fish weighed in at 13.06 pounds and was 34 and 1/4 inches a very nice catch.

We are getting some of our larger stripers coming and I have been hearing that are smaller ones are starting to arrive. For our larger catches its been various glide baits in a trout pattern working well along with the bone or white color.

Not much word from up on Lake Mohave as of yet with the fish mostly in or near spawn and our winds its going to be a bit slow for a while. The Topock Marsh area should be bringing in some of our smaller stripers with anchovies doing the job as to get them on your boat.

If you are targeting the largemouth bass or the smalllies its a great idea to catch and release but please be careful not to damage the fish. This only takes a bit of care to let them go safely if in doubt watch a u tube video on the correct technique but don't just yank the hook out and cause undue stress. We want the fish to survive so it can be caught again. when the fish swallows the lure or hook you might need to cut the line it will dissolve in side the fish.

Hope this helps some for now and we look forward to seeing you in soon to share that catch and your story mostly thanks so much for all of your support. Now Go Catch A Fish Rusty Riviera Marina 520 Riviera Blvd. Bullhead City Az 928-763-8550
