This week Isabella held at 36 percent of capacity. The bass action is starting to improve a bit. The best action has been off primary lake points in 15 to 30-feet of water with deep diving crankbaits, jigs, big worms, and crawdad Chasebaits. Trout imitation baits are a good option for a better grade bass; Isabella is loaded with trout. The DFWL stocked trout here two weeks ago and the bite is solid. Anglers have been scoring trout with trout jigs, garlic scented Powerbait, spinners and pinched crawlers. Boaters trolling have been fooling them with Tasmanian Devils and flicker shad. The 33rd Annual Isabella Lake Fishing Derby is scheduled for March 23-25, 2024. Catfish anglers have had some success this week with Triple S Dip Bait, cut baits and nightcrawlers. Crappie fishing is fair to good. Red’s Marina and South Shore have been the best bets with minijigs and live shiners.
