The Lassen Rainbow Trout fishing at Los Vaqueros just gets better each week!   Today was the best day I have ever had trolling Los Vaqueros as far as landing trophy sized Lassen Rainbow Trout!   I landed a total of six Lassen trout of which three were released safely and three were kept.  The fish ranged in size from 1.5 pounds up to 7.9 pounds.  The three largest fish, pictured below with Paul, ranged from 6.0 pounds to 7.9 pounds.  The fish were caught in the 12’ to 18’ water column around 5’ below the surface.  The fish continue to hold in the back of the coves.  I was fortunate enough to not have to make many lure changes during the day as the “go to” Rapala J-9 Firetiger and Rapala Jointed Husky Jerk 08 Firetiger worked well. The weather was favorable and the surface water temperature warmed slightly as compared to last week running  57 - 58 degrees.   Can’t wait to out to Los Vaqueros next week!
