Stocking: The final shipment of trout from Idaho last week contributed to an impressive total of 21,800 pounds of trout stocked this season! Thanks to the combined efforts from Wright’s Rainbows and DFW, we were able to provide an enriching fishing experience for nearly 10,000 anglers. Your continued support and patronage truly made this trout season a memorable one. We hope you had as much fun as we did!

What’s the Catch? With the water temperatures heating up slowly, you’ll still find schools of trout in the lake. Gold Kastmasters and Rapalas ruled the trout bite last weekend. Most boats came back with limits or near limits on Friday morning. The trout seem to be concentrated in the main channel of the lake. Try fishing off Sentry Point and the t-dock from shore. If you’re heading out in a boat the Hermit Cove buoy line and entrance to Half Moon Cove were hot spots last weekend. The panfish bite is picking up. Sizeable Redears and Bluegills were hooked on pieces of nightcrawler near the tulles patches around the shoreline. Catfish were hooked on Saturday night (we were open for nightfishing!) in Siesta and Shadow Coves on mackerel and green garlic shrimp. Catfish season is right around the corner! Stay tuned for information regarding Catfish Opener.

Conditions: With the water draw, be aware of exposed and submerged structure while boating and muddy shoreline around the lake. See details about the lake draw below. The current water temperature at the surface is 67 degrees. Temperatures drop to 64 degrees around 20 feet deep. The days are getting longer with the sun is rising at 6:08 a.m. and setting at 7:25 p.m. The next New Moon is May 7th.
