I recently fished with Captains Chris Switzer and Rick Podolak aboard the Eclipse fishing out of Seaforth Landing in San Diego. We headed approximately 85 miles offshore in hopes of getting into some of the albacore tuna that have been seen in the area. The weather was great and the seas flat but the fishing was tough. We managed a few jig strikes on the troll as well as a few bait fish that ate the sardines, but all in all a tough day. All of the fish were quality size and we ended the trip with 10 fat albacore in the 20-30 lb range. A tough day for sure but better than most of the other 15 or so boats that were canvassing the area. The Eclipse is looking awesome and the crew worked extra hard as always to get us on some fish. Lets all hope the offshore action picks up some steam soon. Check their website at www.eclipsesportfishing.com or call Seaforth Landing
