Chuck and Linda Fields at the Topaz Lake Marina (775-266-3550): Last weekend was the less amount of people that I've seen in my 15 years out here. Not that many fishermen, water skiers and jet skis. I think it is probably due to a combination of high gas prices and the Topaz Lodge being closed. The trollers (Needlefish lures) and still fishermen (nightcrawlers) did good at the south end for fish averaging 1.5 pounds. One fisherman from shore caught and released about 9 large-sized black bass with the largest being 7.1 pounds.
