Convict Lake kicks out Quality Rainbows for the Trout Opener
Today I fished with my brother Keith Woods and we arrived at the launch ramp at Sunrise. The weather was nice but very very cold. It was forcasted to be 26 degrees but on the way to the lake we observed 9 degree weather. Nevertheless, it was COLD. We caught 3 fish right away in the early hours. We then had a couple hours with no excitement except for the famly of Bald Eagles that put on a show for us. Around 10 AM it lit back up and we caught 5 more fish. We ended up with 8 total up to 2.1 pounds. It was a great day on the lake. We did observe a few people with some nice trout over 5 pounds. Thanks to Convict Lake for being a gracious host for this fine day. We look forward to catching more trout at this scenic spot.
