We had a great time aboard the Pacific Dawnon our SFR Two-Day Charter. Captain Pat Cavanaugh went the distance to an area where a new patch of Bluefin popped up and we ended up with some very nice grade Albies. Yes, Albacore! Okay, so of course I'd rather yank on some Bluefin, however I haven't seen Albies in well over two seasons. Don't worry, we caught Bluefin too. The fishing slowed down for the entire fleet during the couple days we were out, but Captain Cavanaugh's persistence and knack for gluing his anglers to the fish really paid off. We didn't set the world on fire, but we managed to scratch up some very nice grade Albies and Bluefin. We had an extremely good group of anglers on deck, with some familiar faces who have shared the rail in the past. We enjoyed each other's company and worked as a team once the fish bit. I'm looking forward to sharing the rail with this group very soon. As for the Crew, the Pacific Dawn by far has the most talented group in the fleet. I missed fishing with this Crew as we at SFR typically arm wrestle to get to fish on the Pacific Dawn. Yes, sometimes I lose, not this time boys!

The fish are still biting strong and we have high hopes of a late season bite down South. The water and conditions are looking great, but time's running out. The Pacific Dawn will begin commercial Squid fishing starting in October. You know what you gotta do, there are some rare opportunities on the books, so it's still not too late. Call up Fisherman's Landing at (619) 221-8500 and demand a spot on the Pacific Dawn!
