I had a chance to take a couple friends out this weekend for a three quarter day trip at SEA LANDING aboard the STARDUST in beautiful Santa Barbara. The weather forcast said calm seas and minimal swell, perfect for the run to the west end of Santa Rosa Island. We had 34 anglers on the boat for a day of fishing, as soon as everyone was signed in Capt Luke gave a safety briefing and we were headed to the islands. The run out took about 3 hours, as Capt Luke decided to go a little further to an area he had not fished since last season. Wow, what a decision. We had immediate hookups for chuckleheads, reds and some short lings and an occasional bluebass. They quality of the fish we were catching was phenominal, largest ones I\'ve ever caught on a three quarter day boat. Bait of the day was squid strips and a few of us used swimbaits, butterfly jigs, megabaits, they were eating everything that thrown at them. The fishing was so good that I didn\'t get any pictures until the end of the day and we were headed home. Our final count was 340 rockfish and 8 lingcod, with many just short lingcod released for us to catch another day.

For a great day of fishing give them a call at 805-983-0975. Sould you want any of the pictures you can email me at [email protected] and I will gladly forward them to you. Sportfishingreport.com has a charter scheduled on 29 September, you can go to SFR charters page to sign up.
