Fishing for Doble out of Santa Cruz was so good they got Salmon hook ups when they put their line in

Gerry Brooks called in with this update for Reel Sportfishing and the vessel Doble, "Today was pretty much on fire. We got out there around 7:00 AM. We put the lines in the water. We ran 6 lines, for 6 passengers and we couldn't get 6 lines down below the surface because they kept hooking up fish. We put in limits for all 6 passengers and we probably lost about 6 more.
"We had 6 passengers on board, including an 11 year old kid who had never caught a Salmon before, but he caught a lot of trout. They had a twenty dollar big fish bet. Low and behold the 11 year old caught the 22 lb. Salmon and won the jackpot. But anyway fishing is on fire over here. A whole new batch of fish has moved in. We were about 7 to 8 miles out of Santa Cruz and we started hooking fish as soon a we put our lines in the water. We'll be out there again tomorrow. So if you want to get a good fishing trip in right now, get a couple of people together and call 831-212-1832.

We got to the water at 6:30 & we weren't there 5 minutes before we had a double hook up on Salmon, 18 to 20 lbs. The fishing is so fantastic, a lot of krill, a lot of whales around. We had calm seas.
