Great fishing for large trout remains the name of the game this week at Dixon Lake. The largest of the week was a 11 lb. 8 oz. Nebraska Tail Walker landed by John Larsen, pictured above of Marrietta. Mr. Larsen coxed this monster on a silver Thomas Bouyant lure in Jack Creek Cove. Conner Rasmussen from Escondido also landed a nice 7 lb. 5 oz. trout on pink power worm/ jig head combo from Trout Cove. With 1500 lb. plants of Tail Walkers planted two weeks in a row, fishing should remain excellent into the New Year.

Best baits continue to be power worm/power bait combos, night crawlers, power worms, power baits. The best lures have been Thomas Buoyants, Kastmasters, and Rooster Tails. The best results have come from using 2-4 lb. test line. Cool water conditions continue to keep the trout close to shore. The hot spots are the Trout Cove, Boat Dock Cove and Jack Creek Cove. Whisker Bay has also been hot in the days immediately following a stock.

Blue gill continue to make a good showing. Gary Key, Photo #1 from San Marcos weighed in a nice 1lb. 4oz. bluegill on night crawler from the buoy line.

All anglers 8 yrs. and older will still need a daily fishing lake permit. All other park rules, fishing regulations and City of Escondido municipal codes will remain in effect.
