I'm just fortunate to get this trip. It was an awesome trip to remember. I had a good group on this trip. Captain Pat Cavanaugh and the Pacific Dawn crew did a tremendous job that made this trip very successful.

Captain Pat gave us a seminar and pointers that really help us on the entire trip. I started giving the free SFR giveaway gifts before leaving the dock at 10pm. Loaded three tanks full of lively Anchovies & Sardines. We headed south about 30 to 40 miles out.

The morning had everyone wake to a little swell and about 3 knots of breeze. The other sport boats and private boats showed we were at the zone. The morning was greeted by two jig strikes and the action started. Not bad for a start. The Longfins are just boiling in all directions. We filled up the first fish container and off we go for the next round. Then Captain Pat metered a lot of fish underneath our boat. Then the battle started again and we put some wood on those fish. It was like this all day long.

Captain Pat finds them real good. Every time we stopped he would let us know where they are at and what to use. He's good. Well, I won the jackpot on the first day and John Thompson, our new SFR employee, won the pot on 2nd day. Believe me it was not rigged. Our fish count on this two day trip for 18 anglers got limits of Albacore(up to 35 lbs) & 18 Yellowtail (up to 35lbs).

I would to thank Captain Pat Cavanaugh, Mike, Jimmy, Bill & Jeff for a wonderful successful trip. We did it. Take it from me, when you see an open spot on the Pacific Dawn's trip, grab it quick. I promise you that you'll have a super stellar trip. In case you want a copy of your photo, just email me @ 'sfredgar@sportfishingreport.com'. Catch you later.
