The North Platt is running stained because of the rain but the fish are throwing caution to the wind

It seems that we were all looking forward to the shorter days and cooler evenings of Fall. What we got seemed like mother nature forgot about Fall and skipped right to Winter. Casper and the surrounding areas received record levels of snow which lead to mass chaos of downed power lines and excessive amounts of broken limbs and branches on all the trees. Things are starting to return to normal as we are starting to experience more Fall like weather. The only problem is that no one told that to the river. With all that moisture it has caused the North Platte to run the consistency of bailey's and coffee. Everyday the river continues to clean and visibility increases. With that being said the fish are so hungry that they could eat a horse!

Now that we are into the end of October we shake hands with frosty air and cool mornings and welcome the abundant hatches of Blue Wing Olive Mayflies and the allure of eager trout to greet them. Don't worry as not all the fish are on the strict diet of small bugs and the idea that carbs are the enemy. This is the time of year that fish throw caution to the wind and start to put the feed bags on, causing some heart stopping grabs and swipes from streamers. Fall is a great time to enjoy the changing colors of the trees and the wildlife. Oh yeah did we also forget to mention how great the fishing is? As most everybody knows that we have the availability to offer guided trips year round whereas many other outfits around the country are finishing up for the season. Starting November 1st we will be offering our Off Season Special of $300.00 for a full day float for two people with lunch and any other needed equipment. This is smoking deal as this time of year offer the option to nymph, fish dries and streamer fishing.
