Crank baits and night crawlers are also working great! If the algae remains at the surface of the water, try using plastics that are a different shade of green than the algae.

When shad and trout are breaking the surface, it's best to use lures that mimic them for top water boils. Rob Shannon caught 8 stripers averaging 5-6 pounds trolling Mike's flies along the west dam!
