This week we tried something never attempted before! We planted 2,000 lbs. of trout which normally could not survive the plant with surface temperatures over the 70?s. With the help of our fire truck and patioboat rigged with hoses we were able to pull the cold water from the deep water and spray the surface and cool it down enough to make this project a huge success. Not one fish was lost, they all survived the plant although I'm sure they went to the deep water almost immediately. Trolling below the thermocline or bottom fishing is still your best bet for catching trout, that hasn't changed.

Emerson Emery from Elk Grove found 3 trout up by the bridge while fishing with worms. Young Logan Parker was visiting his grandparents from Texas and he caught a nice trout off the dock on worms.

Allison Warner from Lincoln hooked a 3 lb. trout trolling a dodger with a radical glow tube! Riley Fairfield from Vallejo was fishing from shore with his dog Jazzie using PowerBait and hooked a 4 lb. 8 oz. Catfish.

Wade Whorton sent us a great photo of his 9 lb. 4 oz. Rainbow he caught while celebrating his 50th Birthday with us last week! Andrew Shrader was trolling for trout with a worm and a Sling Blade and caught an 8 lb. 4 oz. Catfish.

Dave Callison from Yuba City scored big time with a beautiful limit of Bass, his biggest was 5 lb. 12 oz. and second biggest was a 4 lb. 8 oz. He fishes the east side and up towards the bridge tossing rubber worms. Mike Collins caught the biggest trout this week, a 4 pound rainbow along with 2 others down by the dam on green PowerBait.

Colin, Phil, Ian, & Amelia trolled 30? down close to the dam and together they hooked a limit of trout. They were fishing from a boat drifting with PowerBait. Gus Prouty from Galt hooked a trout in front of his campsite on rainbow PowerBait. Tai Reed fished from shore by the dam and caught 3 catfish, his Big One weighed in at 7 pounds. Tai was using nightcrawlers for bait.
