5,000lbs of rainbow trout ( Nebraska Tail Walkers) have been stocked in our beautiful 44 acre lake the first 2 weeks of trout season.

Another 2,000lbs of rainbow trout will be trucked in from Bridgeport, Nebraska ( rain or shine! ) on Wednesday December 3rd. Trophy trout to 15lbs in size will be included in this stocking.

Largest trout of the week was caught by Janice Krouse of San Clemente with a 9lb 8oz trout that hit a 'Sierra Slammer' orange mouse tail in zone 3 off the shoreline. Emily Stapinski of Irvine landed a 9lb 02oz trout on a 'Mijo' jig at the boat ramp. Kelvin Kanemaru of Corona Del Mar weighed in a 9lb trout soaking a green trout worm in zone 1. Eric Mossman of Carson caught a 7lb 8oz trout using a white 'Sierra Slammer' jig in the flats off a boat. Dustin Doi of Mission Viejo topped off his 5 fish limit with a 7lb 04oz trout working a pink trout jig in the flats off a boat. Lisa Seng weighed in a 7lb 02oz trout fly fishing a zebra midge in the flats via float tube. Dozens of trout in the 5lb to 6lb class were also weighed in the scales last week.

5 fish limits were caught by most fishermen. Trout are averaging 2lb to 3lbs in size with a good number of trout in the 4lb to 6lb class reported. Most trout are holding in front of the concession building around the aeration units and in the flats. Trout have also been reported being caught in the creek inlet. All area's on the shoreline are producing fish with the launch ramp and the big tree in zone 1 the hot real estate. All colors of power bait are working along with inflated night crawlers dipped in garlic scent. Trout jig's and mouse tails dipped in garlic scent are also working well with white, pink and orange the best colors. Fly fishing with zebra midges slowed down last week with only a few fish per angler reported.
