Fall has definitely arrived a little early.?? Daytime temps are not by any means oppressive, although the early morning cold sure has been.?? Thermal issues are a non-issue following this year's drop in flows!

There are still quite a few Summer Short-Wing Stones upstream of Thorp, so definitely have tan hopper-patterns and stimi's in the #8-#10 range if heading up that way (upstream to Cle Elum).?? Look for the October Caddis to steal the late day-dusk show beginning any day now, though, while the Fall mayflies build in importance throughout the system.

In the Canyon, mid-day Hopper fishing can still be good, short of some mayfly activity.?? This, however, won't last much longer.?? Very soon, it'll be mayflies by day, October Caddis late, then onto the next day.

The saddle Caddis is small in size and best imitated with an Elk Hair Caddis in black or olive and the E/C Caddis olive # 16-18.
