Water Conditions: Good to Fair. Some good Baetis hatches, especially on overcast days. Not much angling pressure, but the fishing has been good all through the wild trout section.

Fishing Conditions & Hatches: Nymphs, streamers, and dries... they all have their place on Hat Creek, and the most effective anglers experiment with all three techniques depending on the time of day and water type.

Flies:
?Ģ Mercers Profile Trico Spinner
?Ģ Quigley Spider Variant PMD
?Ģ Baetis or BWO Dries #20-22
?Ģ Rusty Spinners
?Ģ Quigley's Micro Caddis
?Ģ Micro May Flies #20 (Olive and Black)

The Fly Shop's Tips: ??For a fun challenge, try catching Hat Creek trout on as many tactics as you can: small indicators with nymphs, swinging wet flies and/or streamers, and, of course, with a well-presented dry fly. The Powerhouse #2 Riffle is one of the best spots on the creek, but also one of the most popular. Angler seeking a real challenge should sight-cast to trout in the fabled "carbon flats" section, and those looking for solace can hike into the freestone section just above Lake Britton.
