San Bernardino County Regional Parks Extends Catfish Season to September 19th
(August 5, 2009 - San Bernardino) Catfish season, scheduled to end September 10, was extended one week to September 19th. Lakes at Cucamonga-Guasti, Ontario; Prado, Chino; Glen Helen, San Bernardino, Mojave Narrows, Victorville and Yucaipa Regional Park will have one final catfish stocking on September 17th.

Fishermen have landed some big catches throughout this season. Sam Davis of Highland reeled in a hefty 18 lb. catfish on June 11th at Yucaipa Regional Park. Robert Page of Victorville caught a 10 lb. 8 oz. beauty.

San Bernardino County Regional Parks trout season will begin at the end of November. Trout Derbies are scheduled from December 2009 through April 2010 at the following park locations:

Cucamonga Guasti Regional Park, Ontario - December 12, 2009
Yucaipa Regional Park - January 9, 2010
Prado Regional Park, Chino - February 6, 2010
Mojave Narrows Regional Park, Victorville - March 20, 2010
Glen Helen Regional Park, San Bernardino - April 10, 2010

These parks will also host clinics teaching young children how to fish followed by junior fishing derbies. More information will be provided about these programs as it gets closer to the events.
