Hello from your Lake Jennings!
The Bass bite was hit and miss over the past week. The early morning bite is in about 25-35' and the late afternoon bite seems to move up some. A sudden increase in bait is picked up on fish finders which could contribute to the slow bite. Catfish limits were caught but only a few anglers have been fishing them and no reports of Sunfish. Trout continue to be caught with plenty of inventory but most have moved out to deeper waters. Lake Jennings will continue to give out prizes for "Tagged Trout" and "Blind Bogey's" until the end of Spring Break, April 20th.

Best Catfish Spots: Bird Trees
Best Catfish Bait: Mackerel, Chicken Liver, or Dough Bait

Best Bass Spots: All along the banks
Best Bass Lures/Bait: Crawdads and Kreature Baits

Best Wiper Spots: Deep waters
Best Wiper Lures/Bait: Live Shiners, Chicken Liver and frozen Anchovies

Best Trout Spots: Deeper waters and Trolling
Best Trout Lures/Bait: PowerBait, PowerWorms, and Nightcrawlers

Best Panfish Spots: Coves
Best Panfish Lures/Bait: Mealworms and Wax Worms

Water Temperature: 60 Degrees at 100' and 66 Degrees at 10'

Prognosis: With Spring upon us the bite will only get better. Bass and Sunfish are expected to pick up and Trout are also expected to hang in there through April. Inventory for Trout is high so do not think for one moment that you can't still pull out some Trout including Trophies.

What's New: SPRING BREAK - Lake Jennings will be open "EVERY DAY" from April 4 until April 20 and if you plan on camping during this Spring Break make your reservation quickly. Also new, Lake Jennings now offers a Weekly Rate for camping.

Note New Hours:

OPEN EVERY DAY FROM APRIL 4TH TO APRIL 20TH

OPEN AT 6:30 AM
CLOSE AT 7:00 PM

Catfish Stocking Schedule: Watch for the changes to the Catfish Stocking which will include catfish in upper weights. With increasing just 10 percent of the Trout to "Trophy" size Lake Jennings had a great response and will do the same for the Catfish Stocking.
