Cachuma Lake Fishing Report
Location: Cachuma Lake
by Cachuma Lake Staff

Bass, Trout and Catfish seems to be the most comman catch! Check out hese spots locations: Harvey's Cove {Bass/Catfish}, Clark's cove [Trout] Cachuma [Bass /Trout], Crappie [private dock] Johnson Bay [Large Mouth], Santa Cruz Bay [Catfish/Trout] and Bocat's Cove [Catfish]. For those that may want to fish for Trout the fishing has picked up considerably due to first Trout drop last week. They're about 25 ft from surface, so add a split shot or an egg sinker to acheive the necessary depth. For crappie, not sighted, neon green jigs have been proven most effective. Further-more, utilizing garlic night crawlers or Mackarel has been the bait trend for Catfish. Firetiger Flickers or garlic powerbait has been working very well for trout. Ruubber worms/shad, white crankbait or black and yellow Panther Martins have been effective for large and small Mouth Bass. Side note: Shore fishing has been slow, if possible rent a boat for better catch. Check out 805 webcam for weather and scenic views.
