Cachuma Lake Fishing Lake
Location: Cachuma Lake
by Cachuma Lake Staff

Bass, Trout, and Catfish seems to be the most common catch! Check out these spots locations: Harvey's Cove [Bass/Catfish], Sweet-water Bay [Trout], Clark's Cove [Trout], Cachuma [Bass & Trout], Crappie [private dock] Johnson Bay [Large Mouth], Santa Cruz Bay [Catfish/Trout] and Bobcats cove [catfish]. For those that may want to fish for Trout, the fishing has picked up considerably due to 1st Trout drop in November. They're about 2 feet from surface, so add either a split shot or a egg sinker to achieve the necessary depth. First Crappie of the season was finally caught! 2.5 pounds. Neon green or a generally neon jig have been proven most effective. Utilizing either night crawlers [garlic] or Mackerel has been the bait trend for Catfish. Firetiger Flicker shads or garlic powerbait has been working well for trout rubber worms/shad ro white crank bait or black and yellow Pantehr Martins have been effective for Large and Small Mouth Bass. Side Note Shore fishing has been slow, if possible have or rent a boat for better catch results. Check out 805webcam for weather conditons and scenic views.
