We have good news. We found yellowfin tuna 16 miles off the point along with nice size yellowtail mixed in. Rich Sherry, Rich Stout and Kenny Lyons from Yucca Valley were fishing on the Rommy with Captain Hector while the rest of their group fished on the Calimar with Captain Jose Luis. On their first day of fishing, they found the tuna. The tuna were running 15 to 25 lbs. On the 2nd day, they fished Soccorro and got a few white seabass, lots of calicos and sand bass and 2 Humboldt squid.
Eddie Delahoya and his son, Eddie Jr. brought their friend Alice Rundal down from the Long Beach, CA area. Alice just turned 71 years young and got her first dorado under the paddies fishing outside.
When I return from Mexico, I will be providing photos of their catches.
