What an incredible improvement over the last week's report for Cabo San Lucas. The billfish bite rebounded and every boat had multiple opportunities for hookups for everyday fished. High boat for the week was the "Gaviota VIII", reflecting 6 stripers released for two days fished and the "Fish Cabo" with 7 stripers released for 3 days fished. The overall combined fish counts for a total of 24 days fished reflected 41 stripers, (39 released) 3 dorado and 1 wahoo. While the 1150 Fathom Spot was the week's "hot spot", there was also some very good catches from out front of Santa Maria Bay just a couple of miles, with both areas on the Sea of Cortez side of Cabo San Lucas.

Cabo Climate: A partly cloudy week with Thursday & Friday providing sunny and clear days. Temps ranged from 63 nights to 95 daytime highs with overall terrific weather and fishing conditions.

Sea Conditions: The Pacific side, from Golden Gate to Jaime Banks, at 69-70 degrees and pushing up against the warmer water current flow from the Sea of Cortez, rising to 73 to 75 degrees. Temps from Cabo to Las Frailes and beyond into the Sea of Cortez all at 74-75 degrees.

Best Fishing Area: Continues to be at the 1150 Fathom Spot, right at the entry to the Sea of Cortez, with a good back-up location out front of Santa Maria Bay.

Best Bait/ Lure: Live bait and rigged, slow-trolled, ballyhoo were working very well and there was also goo action on the lures.

Live bait Supply: Very good live bait supply for caballitos at $3.00 per bait. Also available were the frozen ballyhoo baits at $3.00 each.
