Shaver kokes fade, trout bite

Shaver Lake - Shaver Lake, CA (Fresno County)

The kokanee fishing at Shaver Lake is winding down, but the expert fishermen participating in the Kokanee Power Derby on Saturday managed to collect a good number of kokes. According to reports, most boats averaged 3 to 9 kokanee per boat. Most fished the Point but some found them at various depths between the Point and the island. The trout bite continues to be great, but the fish are a tad smaller. Dick Nichols (559) 841-3317
