What a GREAT and RARE CATCH for Big Bear Lake! Garry Work of Fresno was pitching a lure early this morning near the Dam when this Beautiful 4.5 pound BROWN TROUT Rocked His World!

Big Bear Lake is NOT known as a Brown Trout fishery however, according to Mike Stephenson of the MWD, about 6 or so years ago a few Brown Trout Frye were inadvertently mixed in with a routine D.F.G. Rainbow Trout plant. The "Brown Trout survivors" would be about 3 to 5 pounds today.

This is not the first "Brownie" caught in recent memory. Tom Bradford, Sheriff's Department Captain and Commander of the Big Bear Sheriff's Station, brought in a 2.5lb Brown Trout trolling near the Observatory about 2 years ago.

Nice Catch Garry!
