Rusty's Lake Mohave Fishing Report

Lake Mohave - Cottonwood Cove, NV

Well I am not sure what's up with the stripers here along the Colorado river.  The bite is on the slow side or it’s the cold and wind that is keeping our anglers indoors.  Our local angler Steve Pugh (Or Hot stick Steve owe) was able to take his Kayak out up on Lake Mohave and land a 6.94 pound striper at 26 inches.  He was using a soft bait in a white pattern.  He had some luck catching a couple of other stripers in this size range and was practicing catch and release but this fish had taken the hook to far in to release.  This is about the only news from the lake mostly due to the wind advisories.  Steve was watching the weather and went out near the dam when the conditions were favorable.  The shore line near the dam and along telephone cove are some good locations for some striper action.
