Striper fishing has been the species of choice for many anglers lately; mainly because they are the hottest bite out on the lake right now.  Most catches have come on a sardine or lug/blood worms.  There have been some bigger models pulled out this past week on swimsuits.  The trout plant was 1,000 lbs. and they were bigger than our usual stockers, which has lead to many trout surviving the initial onslaught.  This has helped both anglers who are seeking trout and those who throw a swimsuit.  Even though the trout bite has significantly dropped off, you can still manage to get one or two from shore.  The largemouth and smallmouth bass have stayed steady throughout the week, with anglers having the best luck on a drop shot or Carolina rig, small skirted jigs, and stick baits.  Some bites have come on reaction lures and on the troll, with most action happening first thing in the morning and later-on in the evening.  The catfish bite remains slow with a few accidental catches while someone is soaking some cut bait for stripers.  The bluegill and crappie bite have been dead, with your best luck being down at the lagoon.
