Striper fishing is still the species biting the best this past week.  A lot of fish are being caught on a sardine or anchovy, and lug/blood worms.  Reports coming in show a lot of schoolie sized stripers, but there have been a few good ones in the mix.  Some stripers are showing on reaction baits and shad imitation lures first thing in the morning or later-on in the evening, with a few coming on the troll as well.  The largemouth and smallmouth fishing is slowly picking up with a lot more fish being caught than in previous weeks.  A lot of bass have been caught on drop shot or Carolina rigged worms, stick baits, and smaller jigs.  There have been a few reports of some anglers having some luck with deeper diving jerk baits and lead head flukes as well.  The trout bite is no more, with most of the trout being caught or devoured.  There is always a chance of catching a holdover since the last stocking was of decent sized trout.  There has been some decent catfish being caught by accident while soaking ut bait for stripers.  The bluegill and crappie remain elusive for the most part, with anglers having the best luck down at the lagoon for these species.  Still waiting for our next trout stocking, should be sooner than later.
