Today we fished Shasta Lake and got into some really nice trout!  Two nice rainbows and two nice browns were the highlight, but we did catch a few bass and some smaller rainbows as well.  Our first brown came right away on an Optimizer spoon and our last BIG brown came on a Bay Rat long shallow.  Flutter spoons accounted for the rainbows we managed to get into today.  With the exception of our first brown we caught at 3.8 mph at 15' feet, the rest of our fish came at 2.5 mph from the surface down to 20'.  The lake is pretty dirty in a lot of places and the debris is still a problem.  April is still looking like our best brown trout fishing ahead and I have openings.  As soon as the water warms up a bit, the bite should really improve!
