Trout!!! Since the trout stockings this season were far and few between, we are planning on receiving a couple ore stockings this week and next to make up for the lack of trout this year. This plant today was 3,000 lbs. We are expecting 12,000 to 15,000 lbs. total at the end of the plants. This will improve the trout fishing for the future. Power baits, Kastmasters and little trout jigs have been working best.

The stripers have picked up again and anglers have been coming back with decent stringers. They have been good sized models too. Sardines, anchovies and lug worms have been working best.

The largemouth and smallmouth bite has also been picking up and there has been a lot fo good numbers caught and some good kickers in the mix. There have been mixed reports of catches coming shallow in about 5-10 feet of the water, and some bites coign a little deeper too. Robo worms, senkos and many other drop shots and fly-lines baits have been working well. A few anglers reported some top water and jerk baits action as well.

The catfish bite slowly continues to improve, with mackerel and check liver being your best bet.

Bluegill and crappie are starting to make more of an appearance with wax worms, meal worms and crappie jigs being the best baits to use.

Nightcrawler and power-bait has been working best, with a few trout jigs workings as well. There have been a few swimbait fish...... Read More
