Catfish are being caught mostly near the west buoys and in Oakvale Cove. Lake Wohlford cats prefer chicken liver or cut mackerel. Drop by the ranger station to pick up a dough-bait recipe that works well for both catfish and carp.

Largemouth Bass can be found working the reed beds, or lurking around structure. They respond well to crawdads, frogs, and dark colored plastics.

Crappie prefer the cover of shade and typically only come close to shore in the pre-dawn hours, early evening, when the shadows grow long, or under overcast conditions. They can be found suspended in their deep water haunts by fisherman in the know or by boaters drifting or trolling for them. They go after mini-jigs or live golden shiners.
