Still no update on the DFG trout stocking webpage, but hopefully we get one this week. Anglers off the shoreline near the main launching facilities have been having the best luck when it comes to trout. Some limits have been brought in as of late but has slowly thinned out since the last plant. A few anglers going for trout off boats have also been having luck and getting into a few holdovers. Power-baits and Kastmasters have been working best. Bright colors and garlic scents seem to be working for the stockers. Striper fishing has picked up a tad with a few more caught lately on cut bait down deep. If you’re able to find a non-windy day and able to locate schools with a fish finder, you can get onto a few decent sized fish. Largemouth and smallmouth fishing has improved a little with most fish coming from deeper water as well. Most fish have been caught on the good old Drop shot or Carolina-rig. Some deeper diving reaction baits have also been producing for a few out there. The swimbait bite remains tough with very few fish to report on besides a giant 35 pounder that was caught the other week. Catfish are still biting here and there, with mackerel or chicken liver working best. The bluegill and crappie are hard to find this time of the year, but anglers have a better chance down at the lagoon for these species. A few anglers have been reporting good numbers as of late.

There are still plenty of holdovers from previous plants to be caught. Power-baits and small trout lures have been working the best. Most catches have been off the shoreline near the upper lake main launch ramp. The stripers have still been tough to...... Read More
