The Sacramento River in Redding, Ca. is well known for its great wild steelhead/trout fishing and its currently living up to its big reputation as one of the wests greatest wild steelhead/trout fisheries.  Inland steelhead/trout typically aren't as big as their coastal cousins, but they are a hard fighting fish for their size.  Ultra light tackle narrows the comparison with the coastal steelhead and catching 30-40 fish a day is a common occurance this time of the year.  Combine the hard fighting nature of our trout with thousands of fish per river mile and you have the makings of an unforgettable fishing trip.  Hundreds of King salmon are holding in the Sacramento River spawning grounds right now and the steelhead/trout are taking full advantage of the loose eggs the Kings are depositing throughout the spawning areas right now.  Spin drifting small egg presentations is an easy way to get these fish to hammer your offerings often resulting in double or triple hook ups!  The Sacramento River flows are currently 3250 cfs so we're only offering power drift boat trips due to low water and access.  Boat traffic is light and makes for a very enjoyable experience on the water. Its a first choice fishing destination for hundreds of our clients every year without a doubt. This fishery is also a great alternative to any coastal winter steelhead fishing trip that unravels due to poor water conditions again this season. We don't have a lot of open dates until mid February, but March and April offer the same exciting fishing on the Sacramento River each year and we have lots of available dates right now!  Thank you!
