Water Conditions:

Best fishing times are very very early or just before sunset due to warm water conditions.
The water in the reservoir is getting warm fast. The algae and weeds are present but the res is still fishing great!

Fishing Conditions and Hatches: Excellent

High water and fish concentrated at the inlets.

Fishing is as good as it gets! Rainbow bay is a great spot to fish early. If you are lucky, you can fish dry callibeatis patterns in the morning. Indicator fishing has been producing best in the weed channels. Make sure to check your flies are clean if your not getting grabs. Buckeye has really been fishing well with either grey and black or olive Optimidges.

Recommended Flies:

Damsels in yellow or light green #14 - #16. Callibaitis Poxyback, Hares Ears, Pheasant tails all in #14 - #16 Scuds, Water boatmans, Punk Perch all in #14 - #16 as well.

Midges- Zebras, Copper Tiger, Chartreuse in #12 - #18 Tan or Gold in #14

Stripping Doublebunnys, Punk Perch, Olive or brown Wooleybuggers, Mohair Leeches (small) in brown, orange, or olive is another highly effective method right now.

Guides Hint: Fish with heavy(3x) leaders and tippet so you can keep fish from freight training to the weeds once hooked! This is the place to get big Crowley sized fish without big Crowley sized crowds!
