The release from the dam is 250 cfs, and the temperature at release is 43F. Reservoir outflow will stabilize now around this number as the reservoir refills. The Applegate is currently open for trout and winter steelhead fishing. Only hatchery winter steelhead can be retained.‌

Winter steelhead are showing up in the Applegate and fish have been caught in the lower river with a couple up to the town of Applegate. The best bets are the Hwy 199 bridge or Fish Hatchery Park.
