Trout Bite better than usual for this time of year at Jess Ranch Lakes, Bass & Bluegill Slower

Below normal summer temperatures were in the mid nineties with very late afternoon winds. Trout action was fair to good this week. Most trout were near or over two pounds. Best bite was before 10am. Power Bait (especially salmon peach, garlic and orange), night crawlers, jigs and lures all caught limits. Hot spots included the northern shore of lake 2 as well as the western and eastern shores of lake 3.

Bass slowed a bit this week but angler report good action using senkos and drop shotted night crawlers on both lakes. Bass hot spots include the eastern shore near the wall and the northern shore near the bridge of lake 2 as well as the northern and western shores of lake 3.

Bluegill bite was slower this week with angler using meal worms and crappie jigs with fish up to one and half pounds. Hot spots included the eastern shore of lake 2 and the northern shore of lake 3.

The full moon on Friday slowed the bite but most Anglers who worked their tackle and baits were rewarded with limits of trout. Best bite was before noon. Power Bait (especially salmon peach, garlic and orange), night crawlers, jigs and lures all caught limits.
